Job summary

Midtown Athletic Club in Canada is seeking a Lifeguard to join our aquatics team. You will supervise pool areas, enforce rules, respond to emergencies, and maintain a safe, clean environment for members.

Ideal candidates are strong swimmers with lifeguard certification (Lifesaving Society) and CPR/AED/First Aid. A customer-service mindset and the ability to provide multisensory instruction are essential for helping members stay engaged and safe.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented with great interpersonal skills.
• Strong swimmers trained and certified in water rescue.
• Nationally recognized aquatics certifications: Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid by Lifesaving Society.
• Ability to provide multisensory instruction: auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic.

Responsibilities

• Explain and enforce rules, regulations, and policies to ensure safety of patrons.
• Maintain order in swimming areas.
• Respond to emergencies and rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
• Maintain cleanliness of aquatics areas to promote an enjoyable experience.
• Enforce pool rules to ensure a safe and clean environment.

The Position

As an integral part of the aquatics team, our Lifeguards inspire members through movement, community, and personal attention. They encourage active, social, and healthier lives by:

• Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure safety of patrons
• Maintaining order in swimming areas
• Responding to emergencies and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning
• Maintaining cleanliness of aquatics areas to promote an enjoyable experience
• Enforcing the pool rules to ensure a safe and clean environment

Lifeguard requirements:

• Customer service oriented, with great interpersonal skills
• Are strong swimmers trained and certified in water rescue
• Possess nationally recognized certifications in aquatics including: Lifeguarding, Pro CPR/AED, First Aid Certified by the Lifesaving Society
• Possess ability to provide multisensory instruction: auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic
