Job summary

Life Time Inc. in Ajax, Ontario is seeking an Aquatics Lifeguard who prioritizes safety and excellent member service. You will supervise both indoor and outdoor pools, monitor the deck, and assist with water slides and events.

The role includes greeting members, assisting in rescues, and maintaining a clean, safe pool environment while supporting aquatic programs and events.

Qualifications

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• StarGuardElite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first).
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping.
• Ability to tread water for 1 minute.
• Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping.
• Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs.
• 6 months of customer service experience (Preferred)

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Lifeguard, you must be safety minded and customer service oriented. You will work in a fast-paced environment and will help to oversee state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoor and out. You will monitor the pool deck and maintain safety on water slides. You will help with aquatics events, such as “Dive in Movies” & “Poolapalooza.”

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities
• Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members

Position Requirements

• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $17.60 and pays up to $22.00, based on experience and qualifications.
