Job description

The Lifeguard, under the direction of the Recreation Program Specialist and Aquatics Coordinator, is primarily responsible for monitoring the safety of participants located within the Town pools.

The successful candidates will have:

  • Minimum of 15 years of age at the time of employment

Must hold and maintain the following qualifications:

  • National Lifeguard – Pool
  • Standard First Aid Certification
  • CPR – Level C
  • Automated External Defibrillator
  • High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development (or willing to obtain)

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays and at multiple locations.
  • Previous experience with ActiveNET recreation software is an asset.
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a small team.

Successful candidates will be required to work the summer season, July and August. Hours of work can vary and may include up to 44 hours per week, with weekend and evening work required.
