Responsibilities
  • Performs vehicle inspections, troubleshooting and testing to determine required or recommended repairs
  • Accurately diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs, including engine, mechanical and electrical system work, and parts replacement as required
  • Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Verify vehicle serviceability and ensure quality repairs on the first attempt by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems as required
  • Ensure customer vehicles remain clean during the repair process
  • Contain costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options for repairs as required
  • Communicate with service advisor and/or dispatcher if additional work is needed
  • Aid service writer as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with the customer, or in any other way necessary to guarantee customer satisfaction
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt of parts and supplies
  • Maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Stay informed of automotive terminology and technology changes in the product
  • Follow attendance and punctuality standards and timekeeping procedures
  • Adhere to the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
  • Follow all work rules and directions from Supervisors; uphold confidentiality policies
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policy
  • Attend relevant training and company meetings as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 310T Licence 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice
