Interior Health in Kelowna, BC, is hiring an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Surgical 3 East team at Kelowna General Hospital. This casual opportunity offers shifts across days and nights (07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00) with flexible hours as needed.

As an LPN, you will perform assessments, provide nursing care and administer medications in accordance with organizational policies and BCCNM standards, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team on a 36-bed unit that

About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) responsibilities include:

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

The role is a casual opportunity. Casual employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0 to 37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts are scheduled across days and nights, rotating between 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00.

About this location/unit

Kelowna General Hospital is part of Interior Health's expansion plan and hosts the Downtown Clinical Academic Campus for the University of BC Medical School. The Surgical 3 East unit is a 36-bed team-based unit with an overflow bed, accommodating up to 37 patients. It includes specialized services such as complex wound care, tracheotomies and plastic surgery, and offers opportunities for skill consolidation.
