Interior Health seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. This permanent part-time position (0.71) features rotating day and night shifts in a busy vascular, general surgery and Urology unit.

You will perform assessments, administer medications and collaborate with the team to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic setting. IH offers benefits, training opportunities and a focus on well-being.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Practical Nurse program.
• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Current CPR certification is required and should be uploaded with your application.

About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.71) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:30 to 19:30, 19:30 to 07:30 hours.

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals.

Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health.

The 6S Unit at the Royal Inland Hospital is a very busy vascular, general surgery and Urology unit.
