Job description

Under the supervision of the Manager or a designate and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides care to complex but stable residents/clients. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, planning and delivering personal care, and performing nursing procedures. The LPN operates within the full scope of practice as defined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, adhering to competency guidelines, agency policies, standards, and unit-specific protocols.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN.
• For MHSU roles, additional education as required by BCCNM for practice involving primary diagnoses of Mental Health and/or Substance Use disorders.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective verbal and written communication with residents, families, colleagues, multidisciplinary team members, and the public.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Organizational skills and ability to implement a care plan.
• Competency to work at the full scope of practice, including medication administration, as required by BCCNM.
• Ability to operate relevant equipment.
• Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
