Job description

Under the supervision of the Manager or designate and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides care to complex but stable residents/clients. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, planning and delivering personal care, and performing nursing procedures. The LPN operates within the full scope of practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, adhering to agency policies, standards, and unit-specific protocols.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN.
• For MHSU roles, additional education as specified by BCCNM for practice involving primary diagnoses of Mental Health and/or Substance Use disorders.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective verbal and written communication with residents, families, co-workers, multidisciplinary team members, and the public.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Organizational skills to implement and manage a care plan.
• Knowledge and competencies to work at the full scope of practice, including medication administration.
• Ability to operate relevant equipment.
