Job summary

Covenant Health in Edmonton’s Grey Nuns Community Hospital is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Emergency GNCH team. You will deliver holistic, high-quality care in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support patients and families.

As a member of Covenant Health, you will adhere to established standards and the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement, with shift rotations including days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
• Recent Emergency Department experience OR two years Medical/Surgical/Pediatric/Acute Care experience.
• You will be on your feet for extended periods and must assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients.
• Must be able to bend, lift, push and pull equipment.

Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent Emergency Department experience OR Two years Medical/Surgical/Pediatric/Acute Care experience required. Excellent assessment and organizational skills required. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment. Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, and EPIC. Experience and ability to work with cardiac monitors preferred. Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation of ECGs preferred. Experience with Connect Care EHR asset; Emergency Connect Care ASAP preferred.
