Job summary

Interior Health Authority in Armstrong, BC is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Home Health team at Pleasant Valley Health Centre. If community care nursing is your passion, you are reliable, flexible and motivated to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess and plan patient care, administer medications, and follow BC standards of practice and IH policies.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse eligible to practice in British Columbia (LPN).
• Experience in home health or community nursing is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments, plans, implements and provides nursing care (e.g., wound care, IV, catheter care).
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications per policies.
• Works within BC Standards of Practice and IH policies and unit-specific protocols.

About The Job

The Licensed Practical Nurse:

• In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to clients such as wound care, IV, catheter care and pleurex drains
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days rotating from 08:00-16:00.
