Job summary

Interior Health in Creston, BC seeks a licensed practical nurse to join Creston Health Centre. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will provide essential nursing care, wound care, IV therapy and med administration in a fast-paced, client-centered environment. This is a relief part-time position (0.74 FTE) through Dec 31, 2027, with shifts 08:30–16:30. Benefits include EAP, training, vacation, health benefits, pension, shift premiums, and competitive wages.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized Practical Nurse program with licensure.
  • One year of recent related community, acute care or long-term care experience.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and provide nursing care to clients, including wound care, IV, catheter care and pleurex drains.
  • Administer oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications per organisational policies.
  • Operate within the Standards of Practice as outlined by BCCNM and according to unit policies and procedures.

About the Job
  • In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to clients such as wound care, IV, catheter care and pleurex drains
  • Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
  • Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols
This is a Relief Part Time (0.74) opportunity until December 31, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days rotating from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.

Qualfications
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one (1) year of recent, related community, acute care or long-term care experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Current valid BC Driver’s License
