Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our caring team supporting residents across our retirement communities. You will deliver patient-centered nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and adjust care plans based on residents’ changing needs.

Requirements include current LPN licensure in the applicable province, strong clinical knowledge, experience with seniors, and ongoing communication with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, patient-oriented nursing care in line with provincial standards.
• Build trusted relationships with residents, families and teams through ongoing communication.
• Implement and evaluate care plans and make changes as required.
• Complete and ensure residents' clinical assessments and documentation are up to date.
• Teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers with coaching and mentorship.

LPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care.
