Zusammenfassung

LASIK MD Victoria is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join our ophthalmology team. This permanent part-time role (approximately 8–12 hours biweekly) offers Wednesday to Saturday shifts 7:00 AM–4:00 PM and occasional travel to Vancouver; wage is $28.27–$33.93 per hour.

Qualifikationen

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse with practicing registration in BC.
• Completed perioperative nursing program from a post-secondary institution.
• Experience in ophthalmology/optometry is an asset.

Aufgaben

• Prepare the OR for surgery: instruments, consumables, medications, and record usage.
• Organize instruments, equipment, and the sterile scrub table.
• Assist the Ophthalmologist during procedures.
• Monitor the surgery to ensure sterility.
• Complete notes on the charts and handle required forms, in writing or orally.
• Support Risk Management by identifying and reporting patient safety concerns.
• Perform other tasks requested by the center director or management.

Your tasks at a glance

• You thoroughly prepare the OR for surgery: instruments, consumables, medications, etc and record all used materials (with the help of the surgical team).
• You organize the instruments, the equipment, and the sterile scrub table as required.
• You assist the Ophthalmologist during procedures.
• You monitor the surgery to ensure everything remains sterile.
• You rigorously carry out all the administrative tasks associated with the position (complete notes on the charts, communicate information in writing or orally, and complete any form required by the establishment).
• You support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.
• You perform any other task requested by the center director or the management team.

A clear view of your assets

• You are a current Licensed Practical Nurse and hold a current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
• Must have completed a perioperative nursing program from a post-secondary educational institution.

• Your experience in ophthalmology and/or optometry is considered an asset.
• You find it easy to connect with others and quickly build trust.
• You thrive in a dynamic environment and when working in a team.
• You have excellent communication skills in English.
• Schedule: You have flexible work availability between Wednesday to Saturday (typical shift 7:00 AM-4:00 PM)
• Required: You are willing to travel between our LASIK MD Victoria & LASIK MD Vancouver locations (planning and expenses covered by Vision Group)
