Alberta Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join Unit 35 Rehabilitation, Allied Health on the Red Deer Regional Hospital site. You will work as part of an interprofessional team, focusing on neurology, stroke and physical rehabilitation to help patients regain function and return home.
The role requires completion of an accredited LPN program, active registration with CLHA, and current BCLS-HCP.
Unit 35 is a unique opportunity to provide care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on a neurology/stroke and physical rehabilitation unit. Working as part of a team that includes Nursing and Allied Health disciplines, the LPN on Unit 35 plays a key role in helping patients work toward previous functioning with the goal of returning patients to their homes and families.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with neurology and stroke preferred.Experience working in rehabilitation preferred.
