Shannex Incorporated in Fredericton, NB is seeking a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Thomas Hall team. You will assess and plan resident care, lead health services staff, administer medications, and support care planning in a compassionate, safe environment.

Flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays are available. A valid ANBLPN license and CPR/First Aid are required, with English proficiency and a willingness to work in long-term care.

Competenze

• Active ANBLPN registration is required.
• CPR & First Aid or BLS certification is required.
• Criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening is required.
• English proficiency is required; French is an asset.
• Experience with elderly in long-term care is an asset.

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document and direct resident needs with medical teams.
• Provide leadership to health services staff and oversee quality health services.
• Promote communication and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Administer and document prescribed medications per policy.

About The Opportunity

• Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, documenting and directing resident needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences and internal staff;
• Providing leadership to health services staff and overseeing provision of quality health services respecting the resident’s right to individualized planning of health services;
• Working with the existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance to policies and procedures;
• Administers and records prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice;
• Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of residents’ care plans;
• Maintains the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting;
• Applies dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy;
• Assists with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other health care staff

About You

• Active registration with the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses (ANBLPN);
• Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays;
• Availability to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter, available to work all shift types and days of the week;
• A valid CPR & First Aid or BLS Certification (required);
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire;
• Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset;
• Any previous course in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care considered an asset;
• Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset;
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
