Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Fort McMurray is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Supportive Living unit at Willow Square Continuing Care. You will provide patient- and family-centered care as part of an interprofessional team in a long-term care setting.

The role requires an accredited LPN program, registration with CLHA, and current BCLS-HCP certification, with shifts that include days/evenings/nights in a part-time capacity.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of Medication Assistance Program (MAP).Ability to support the HCAs who participate in this program.Strong communication and leadership skills.The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential.The candidate must be able to work well independently and within a team. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills and strong decision‑making ability.Required to work to full scope of practice of LPN.

Preferred Qualifications:

Have 1 to 2 years recent experience in LTC/ Supportive living / Seniors Health.Understanding of collaborative care and resident focus care.Dementia Care Training (i.e. Supportive Pathway, P.I.E.C.E.S).Experience working with Palliative Care clients and families,Palliative care education is an asset.Advanced Foot care training and experience preferred.Wound Care experience preferred.Experience working in a Charge role.
