Job summary

Bayshore Medical Personnel is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Cold Lake team in Alberta. The successful candidate will provide direct patient care in walk‑in and appointment settings within primary and ambulatory care units, under supervision of physicians, RNs, and other healthcare staff.

Responsibilities include COVID screening, vaccinations, patient histories and assessments, and counseling on preventive care.

Qualifications

• One (1) full-time equivalent year of nursing experience in the last 3 years in adult primary/ambulatory care.
• Licensed Practical Nurse with current provincial license and BLS/First Aid certification.
• Comfort with COVID screening, vaccinations, and patient counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under physicians, RNs, and other providers.
• Screen patients prior to entry and assist with vaccinations.
• Document patient histories, perform selected assessments and interventions.
• Counsel patients on preventive health care.

Bayshore Medical Personnel is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with one (1) full-time equivalent year of experience to join the team in Cold Lake, Alberta.

The successful LPN provides services to patients on a walk‑in and appointment basis in various primary and ambulatory care settings such as the Care Delivery Unit (CDU), treatment room, and specialty clinic.

Duties And Responsibilities

The successful applicant will provide direct patient care under the direction of physicians, Registered Nurses, and/or other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities Could Include, But Are Not Limited To

• COVID screening prior to patients entering the clinic;
• assistance with vaccinations;
• conducting patient history and physical assessments;
• performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions; and
• counseling patients on preventive health care.

Qualifications

The LPN shall possess, as a minimum, one (1) full-time equivalent year of experience within the last 3 years in nursing practice conducting patient assessments and providing direct nursing care for a broad range of diseases in the adult population in a primary care or ambulatory care setting.

Skills And Qualifications

All LPNs must, as a minimum, have:

• Graduated from a Practical Nursing Program approved by Council of the College of Nurses;
• Current and valid license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice; and
• Certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C.

Other Requirements

• Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards Z94.4 (within 2 years)
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (within 2 years)
