Covenant Care invites applications for a Licensed Practical Nurse in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Resident Care Manager, the LPN will lead the care team to ensure assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation are patient-focused and aligned with Covenant Care policies.

This role emphasizes compassionate, respectful interactions, ongoing communication with residents’ families, and end-of-life support that preserves dignity and privacy while adapting to changing resident needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse Program required.
  • Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required.
  • Current CPR / First Aid Certification / Equivalency required.
  • Ability to speak French an asset.
  • Dementia education an asset.
  • Strong critical assessment skills.
  • Exhibits open and sincere approach to relating to people with respect and compassion for everyone.
  • Recognizes and responds to verbal and non-verbal cues with active listening.
  • Ability to cope with changing shifts and resident needs; strong multi-tasking and time management.
  • Vaccination against all required communicable diseases under Covenant Care’s OHS policy.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Resident Care Manager (RCM), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of care to residents by motivating and empowering the team. The LPN works cohesively with members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure the nursing process (Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) is individualized and ongoing, such that changing needs of residents are addressed and met.

In accordance with Covenant Care’s mission, vision, and values, this position is responsible for ensuring that residents receive quality care and service according to Covenant Care policies and procedures. Provides support to residents, their family and visitors during the resident’s end of life journey that will enable choice, dignity, privacy, respect and individuality.

This position will:

  • This position requires you to be vaccinated against all required communicable diseases under Covenant Care’s OHS policy
