Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Full-Time Registered Pharmacy Technician at Janzen's Pharmacy - Bay & Algoma in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The role involves accurate transcription of verbal prescriptions, safe medication preparation, and coordination with other pharmacies to ensure quality patient care.

You will work under Ontario regulations, maintain confidential patient records, and supervise Pharmacy Assistants to support efficient prescription filling.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Injection certification is required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and accurately transcribe verbal prescriptions from healthcare providers.
• Ensure patient safety through accurate and high-quality preparation and release of medications.
• Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies.
• Process prescriptions by entering orders, counting, measuring, compounding, and packaging medications.
• Methadone dosing preparation.
• Perform final checks on prepared prescriptions for accuracy and safety.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Oversee Pharmacy Assistants to ensure efficient and safe prescription filling.
