The role emphasizes customer service, ongoing product knowledge, and delivering high standards of care; weekend availability and flexible hours are required; compensation is CAD 28–32 per hour with health, dental, and growth benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the College of Opticians and hold a valid Dispensing Optician License in your province.
• At least 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in an optical dispensary.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment with strong organization.
• Reliability and flexibility to work retail hours.
• Friendly, outgoing demeanor with confident product recommendations and styling advice.
• Motivated by building long-term customer relationships and Specsavers' customer experience model.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; immigration support is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in understanding visual needs and interpreting prescriptions from eye care professionals.
• Provide guidance on frame and lens selection for comfort, style, and fit.
• Perform dispensing measurements using digital tools and conduct quality checks on eyewear.
• Maintain knowledge of frames, lenses, treatments, and current promotions.
• Manage after-care services and resolve complaints with effective problem-solving.
• Support contact lens recommendations and store promotions as directed by leadership.
• Handle third-party billing professionally and ensure fee-structure compliance.
• Coach teammates in optical knowledge and encourage professional growth.
• Contribute to daily store operations, including cleanliness and inventory management.
