Job summary

The Seaboard Transport Group is seeking a skilled truck/trailer mechanic in Calgary, Alberta. The role focuses on performing maintenance and repairs in a safety-conscious environment, with emphasis on diagnostics and equipment reliability.

You will participate in safety meetings, process work orders electronically, and contribute to a clean, efficient workshop. Red Seal certification is required; B620 inspector experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal certification required for truck/trailer mechanic work.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic work orders.
  • High level of professionalism and teamwork is expected.
  • Additional experience with tanks, trailers, or welding is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs in adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Participate in safety and maintenance meetings.
  • Engage in professional interactions with colleagues and customers.
  • Complete electronic work orders and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Diagnose issues and communicate required parts clearly and promptly.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and annual motor vehicle inspections.

Your Role

As part of our team, you’ll:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs in adherence to safety standards and regulations.

  • Diagnose issues and communicate required parts effectively.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and annual motor vehicle inspections.
  • Stay up to date with work-related training and development opportunities.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Red Seal certification as a truck and/or trailer mechanic.
  • Experience as a B620 inspector (an asset but not required).
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • High level of professionalism and teamwork.
  • Additional experience with tankers, trucks, dry vans, reefers, or welding is an asset.
