Job summary

Apex Dental in Fort St. John is hiring a Dental Assistant to join our busy, established practice serving the community for over a decade.

Expect modern equipment, a supportive team, and opportunities to build diverse clinical experience from preventive care to restorative procedures. We offer a competitive rate of $24–$35 per hour, depending on skills and experience, with a rewarding total-rewards package and a focus on patient care.

Qualifications

  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body.
  • Previous dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

Wage:

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $24-$35/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

About You:
  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
