Job summary

Leuschen Transportation in Timmins, ON is seeking a licensed 310T Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. You will perform day-to-day preventative and post-incident repairs on a large fleet of commercial vehicles, including school buses, under supervision of the Shop Foreman.

The role requires a valid 310T license and a valid driver’s license, with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. Shifts are Mon-Fri, 6:00-15:00 or 8:00-17:00, wage is $47.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain in good standing a valid 310T License.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions.
• Practical experience in preventative maintenance within School Bus industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform Brake and Safety Inspections, carry out preventative maintenance.
• Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month.
• Perform service calls and cold starts as required.
• Adhere to safety policies and prove compliance with them.
• Perform additional vehicle repairs as needed.
• Adhere to regulations from Company, Federal, Provincial and Municipal perspective.
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine repair or replacement.

Job description

Leuschen Transportation is currently hiring licensed 310T Mechanics to join our team in Timmins. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Mechanic is responsible for the day-to-day preventative and post incident repairs of a large fleet of commercial vehicles. This fast paced, but diligent role will diagnose and carry out all repairs for mechanical issues and problems discovered in various commercial School Buses and civilian class vehicles. The incumbent will maintain a strong sense of customer service while interacting with various stakeholders including, School Bus Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, Peer Mechanics, Apprentices and Governmental Agencies.

Shifts are Monday through Friday - 6:00 am to 3:00 pm or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Wage: $47.50 per hour

Job Duties
