Job summary

The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) is seeking two part-time Library Technicians to operate the Learning Commons at Sacred Heart High School. These 0.50 FTE roles will be prorated from the annual full-time salary range of $49,117–$52,809.

Duties include promoting literacy and technology, coordinating volunteers, and providing services in a digital environment. Required qualifications include a Library Technician or Information Science credential and at least two years of related experience,

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Library Technician or Information Science.
• Two years of related experience.
• Experience with Insignia or similar library software.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and AV equipment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies (3D printing, robotics, coding, Cricut).
• Strong teamwork and ability to work independently.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Equivalent education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Learning Commons and provide services in an automated/digital environment for staff and students.
• Promote authors, books, literacy, technology and hold special events.
• Perform administrative functions for the Learning Commons and/or school.
• Coordinate volunteers’ activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
