Job summary

Responsibilities include outreach, instruction, and collaboration with librarians and staff. Evening/weekend work may be required, with a 36-hour modified work week and a salary that reflects the professional Services unit.

Qualifications

• Two-year Library Technician Diploma reflecting CFLA guidelines.
• Two years of client service experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal, conflict management and teamwork abilities.
• MS Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to apply library policies and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Delivers proactive, learner-centered library services with high client-service standards.
• Provides information/reference services in person, by phone, email, and library chat.
• Participates in outreach and community engagement activities and social media postings.
• Locates information using catalogs and databases to support curriculum and faculty research.
• Collaborates with librarians and teams on planning, assessment, and service improvements.
• Trains new hires on key library services and supports metadata, circulation, and interlibrary loans as needed.
