The role requires MLIS, several years of library and people-management experience, and strong customer service along with knowledge of an Integrated Library System. The position involves travel between sites and occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• MLIS required.
• Minimum of three years related library work experience.
• Experience with direct people management.
• Experience in library programming.
• Working knowledge of an Integrated Library System.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee branch operations and staff supervision per Manager of Customer Experience.
• Support efficient operations and customer-centric service aligned with library priorities.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule and evaluate branch staff.
• Interpret and implement policies per HR and legislative requirements.
• Maintain staff schedules in line with Collective Agreement and adapt to changes.
• Track payroll entries and ensure accurate reporting.
• Oversee information, readers’ advisory, circulation and service delivery.
