GENERAL FUNCTION

The Student Optician creates exceptional value by delivering Signature Customer Experiences. Ensures customers are delighted by performing key selling steps. Develops optical skills of others and fosters an effective learning environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide unsurpassed Customer Service
• Be proactive & solution-driven, with accurate execution & product knowledge
• Assist customers with selections, provide recommendations, and educate on adjustment services
• Be patient & courteous with indecisive customers; answer questions about products
• Lead in optical knowledge, representing expertise for associates
• Record measurements, adjust/fit eyewear correctly, meet customer needs
• Operate Point of Sale terminal accurately, inputting customer and prescription info
• Maintain store appearance & visual displays

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Opticianry program
• Optical dispensing experience
• Knowledge of optical theory and merchandise
• Familiarity with store merchandise and inventory management systems
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to use and carry a tablet/IPAD
• Comfortable using technology to engage patients, customers, and staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Studying for LensCrafters Final Inspector Certification
• Studying LensCrafters Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program
• Previous customer service and retail experience
