Paralegal & HR Coordinator – Xypex Chemical Corporation, Richmond BC

About the Position:

Xypex is seeking a skilled Paralegal & HR Coordinator with paralegal expertise to join our onsite team in Richmond. This unique role combines paralegal expertise with HR coordination, making it an excellent fit for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is eager to help build and improve internal systems.

As our Paralegal & HR Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for reviewing, organizing, and maintaining contracts and agreements, including distributor, licensee, vendor, employment and software agreements, with accuracy and confidentiality.

You’ll also play a key role in HR support, managing employee documentation, elements of the employee lifecycle, and ensuring HRIS data integrity, all while helping us transition to a more streamlined, digital-first approach.

This is a hands-on, detail-driven role perfect for someone who is organized, comfortable with legal terminology and systems, and enthusiastic about contributing to a growing international company.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Support

  • Review and revise a wide range of contracts and agreements, including distributor agreements, licensee agreements, vendor onboarding packages, software/system agreements, and NDAs.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency across contract language, terms, and key clauses.
  • Advise leadership on contract review findings by identifying risks, highlighting key terms, and noting any discrepancies.
  • Maintain and manage legal templates and contract version control.
  • Lead the design and implementation of a digital contract database for improved accessibility and tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, operations, finance) and external legal counsel to ensure timely contract execution and compliance.
  • Support due diligence and corporate filings as required.

HR Coordination

  • Maintain and digitize employee records, HR templates, and policy documents.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee data in the HRIS and maintain structured digital storage.
  • Coordinate training logistics and track completion.
  • Administer benefits records and support benefits-related inquiries.
  • Assist with recruitment tasks such as posting jobs and coordinating interviews.

About You:

  • You have a paralegal diploma or equivalent legal administrative experience.
  • You’re meticulous, organized, and understand the importance of confidentiality.
  • You’re confident working with contracts, legal language, and structured documentation.
  • You’re familiar with HR platforms, spreadsheets, and digital filing systems.
  • You enjoy building systems and helping others stay organized and compliant.
  • You’re a proactive team player who takes ownership of tasks and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation, Benefits, and Total Rewards:

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to Xypex. While the expected salary range is $65,000–$85,000, we may consider a different amount depending on the experience, knowledge, and skills of the successful candidate.
