Legal Assistant - Employment and Labor

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join the Employment & Labour group at Norton Rose Fulbright. This position will appeal to candidates who enjoy dynamic, stimulating work.

Responsibilities
  • Assist a dedicated team of lawyers in the Employment & Labour group.
  • Transcribe, edit and revise letters, agreements, contracts, procedures, reports and other dictated or handwritten documents.
  • Maintain an efficient file‑management and reminder/follow‑up system.
  • Open and close client files.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the position, including time entries, expense reports and billing.
  • Assume responsibility for agenda management and ensure follow‑up.
  • Keep filing up to date.
  • Make photocopies, send faxes and perform any other tasks entrusted to you.
Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a legal assistant.
  • Proficiency in the advanced functions of Outlook and Word.
  • Meticulousness and excellent attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure.
  • Positive outlook and client‑service approach.
  • Autonomy, proactive attitude and ability to work quickly.
  • Ability to be accountable.
  • Adaptability to change and flexibility.

We require a good working knowledge of both English and French because you will communicate frequently with colleagues and clients in both languages.
