Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is seeking a highly organized Legal Assistant to support the Business Law Group in Ottawa. You will independently manage four lawyers’ daily operations, prepare closing agendas, draft and edit various documents, and coordinate calendars and travel.

The role requires at least five years of legal support experience, excellent English communication, and strong organizational skills. French would be an asset.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in Business Law.
  • Diploma from a Legal Assistant, Law Clerk or Paralegal program would be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to prioritize, meet deadlines and adapt to frequently changing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations for four lawyers in the Business Law Group.
  • Prepare closing agendas and transactional documents.
  • Prepare monthly invoices and expense reports.
  • Edit and format agreements, letters, memos and other documents.
  • Maintain lawyers' calendars and travel arrangements; track deadlines.
  • Schedule client meetings and conference calls.
  • Provide general administrative support and manage client files.
  • Maintain efficient document and file management systems.

4 days a week in office - Ottawa OfficeNorton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-orientated Legal Assistant to work with our Business Group in the Ottawa Office. This position will appeal to candidates who enjoy a busy and challenging position in an office with a great culture.
