School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay) is seeking a Learning Services Teacher for Grades 7-9 at Laurie Middle School in Cranbrook, BC. This is a 0.571 FTE temporary contract from Nov 23, 2026 to June 25, 2027.

The role requires a degree or certification in Learning Services/Inclusive Education and BC Teacher Certification is preferred. Please note all work will be on site. Preference will be given to applicants with appropriate teaching credentials and experience in Learning Services;

Location: Laurie Middle School, Cranbrook, BC

Contract Type: Part-time Temporary (0.571 FTE)

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $40,193 to $67,726, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

• Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification.


• Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting.

Job Summary

Learning Services Teacher - Grades 7-9

0.571 FTE temporary contract, starting November 23, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to June 25, 2027.

Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Intermediate level. Must have a degree/diploma or certification in Learning Services/Inclusive Education.

Please note that all work will be on site.

Please note: Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting.
