Job summary

Co-operators General Insurance Company is seeking a Supervisor, Underwriting - Personal Lines to lead a high-performing team within the Underwriting department. The role is regular full-time with a hybrid work model (2 days in office) and requires strong leadership across staff and processes.

You’ll manage change, develop unit plans, and monitor budgets while ensuring underwriting decisions across product lines remain profitable and client-focused.

Qualifications

• Five years of related insurance experience or equivalent.
• Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce or related discipline.
• CIP designation is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of insurance products, processes and practices.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, coaching and staff development.
• Bilingual in English and French is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to manage change and maintain a positive work environment.
• Develop and monitor unit plans, goals, priorities and schedules aligned with goals.
• Contribute to department budget planning to achieve financial goals.
• Ensure underwriting decision-making across product lines is consistent and client-focused.
