Job description

Our Audio-Visual team focuses on designing, installing, and maintaining complex AV solutions for our clients.

As a Lead AV Technician with Paladin Technologies, you will be responsible for reviewing, understanding, analyzing, and implementing installation plans from our Design, Sales, and Project Management Team.

Reporting into a Project Manager or Foreman, you will be responsible for mentoring and supervising junior Technicians. This position requires the ability and technical knowledge to complete installations, understand the BOM, and be capable of adjusting as needed to meet client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will represent Paladin in a professional manner that aligns with our values of leadership mindset, people development, team, and client-focused.

A typical day could see you working on a variety of commercial installations including hospitals, airports, corporate offices, and casinos to name just a few.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Lead the installation and servicing of cabling infrastructure and audio/visual devices including pre-wiring, installation, termination, testing, reporting, and labeling per specifications and drawings.
  2. Lead the installation of audio/visual equipment including conferencing systems, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems, and presentation systems.
  3. Lead system programming and commissioning using Crestron Toolbox, Extron Toolbelt, and Tesira software to establish device connections.
  4. Manage device IDs and IP addresses, maintain and update spreadsheets for programmers.
  5. Organize onsite activities to ensure efficiency and motivate the project team.
  6. Mentor, coach, and train other Technicians.
  7. Load program files and update firmware for devices.
  8. Build racks and implement strong cable management practices.
  9. Read and interpret system diagrams and construction drawings, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
  10. Complete administrative duties including project updates, documentation, and filing.
  11. Be prepared to be “on-call” outside regular hours if required.
  12. Build relationships with clients and prospects for future opportunities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry.
  • Experience installing and maintaining complex Audio-Visual systems in a commercial environment.
  • Flexibility to work in various environments, from construction sites to finished offices.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean abstract.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in hospitality, healthcare, or post-secondary industries.
  • Certifications such as CTS, CTS-I, Extron AV associate, Biamp Tesira Forte, or Crestron Professional Installation are preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. Use hands for handling objects and typing. Reach, talk, hear, and see clearly. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet). Power tool use is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Exposure to outdoor weather, construction sites, and travel between sites. May work in typical office environments and occasionally in confined spaces. Noise levels are usually moderate. High work and confined space entry may be required.

Pay

$34.00ph - $41.00ph DOE
