Job summary

Select Source International in Markham, Ontario seeks an Electrical Engineer IV to execute protection and control engineering and consulting services for US and Canada markets. You will design, program, test and commission protection and control applications for power system design and substation automation projects.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with electrical design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Entry-level experience or internship in electrical engineering is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools is required.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and delivery of protection and control solutions for generation, transmission, distribution systems for utilities and industrial clients.
• Participate in design and development of microgrid solutions including power flow optimization and dispatching algorithms.
• Perform engineering studies such as short circuit, load flow, ground grid design, insulation coordination, arc-flash studies.
• Create relay setting files including programming of protection and control elements and third-party relays.
• Test protection and control solutions in-house and at customer installations.
• Model and conduct power system simulations using RTDS or equivalent.
• Provide factory acceptance test plans and testing services for customer witnessing.
• Site acceptance test planning and field support through commissioning of new applications.
