Position Overview

As a Lead Project Planner, you’ll play a key role in leading planning and scheduling activities on Nuclear and Heavy Industrial Projects. This hands-on role will give you the opportunity to directly impact the scheduling outcome over a broad range of projects in various stages of development and progress. By analyzing, monitoring, and maintaining the project’s progress, you’ll prepare and analyze reports, develop alternative solutions, and drive successful project completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in planning and managing large heavy industrial projects. Kiewit Nuclear Canada. is a full-service engineering, project management, and construction provider operating. Location

The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.

Qualifications

  • Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive project schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of planners, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver high-level project reports and presentations to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Utilize advanced project management software and tools to monitor and report on project performance.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across all project teams.


Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning within the heavy industrial sector, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on site in a project coordination role or higher within the heavy industrial or nuclear sector.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • In-depth understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
