Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Team Lead – Senior Cost Controller to oversee project cost controls and manage a team of professionals. You will ensure the quality of deliverables while supporting financial health by managing budgets and forecasts.

The Opportunity

As a Team Lead – Senior Cost Controller, you will strengthen project controls practices and ensure robust cost monitoring and performance management. You will oversee cost control across multiple mandates while leading a team of professionals, directly contributing to impactful projects for our clients and the communities we serve.

Your Impact

As a Cost Controller

• Manage budgets and forecasts to ensure the financial health of projects
• Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions to optimize performance
• Apply Earned Value Management EVM principles to support decision-making
• Ensure rigorous tracking of project performance in collaboration with stakeholders
• Manage changes and their financial impacts throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with processes, policies and contractual requirements

As a Team Lead

• Lead, engage and develop a cost control team
• Allocate resources across projects
• Ensure the quality of deliverables
• Review and approve outputs
• Participate in recruitment
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

The Skills That Set You Apart

• University degree, bachelor’s in engineering, finance, project management or a related field
• Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in cost control within complex engineering project environments
• Proven expertise in Earned Value Management EVM and project financial control
• Demonstrated experience in team management and development
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in dynamic environments
• Knowledge of AACE and PMI frameworks and certifications strong asset
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Bilingualism is required as the individual will frequently be involved in projects with English‑speaking clients and partners outside Quebec

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $122,900 – 162,800
MB & ON: $112,100 – 154,400
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $111,000 – 147,400
