Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Consultant, Oil Sands Mine Reclamation, to lead end-to-end reclamation projects from planning through monitoring. You’ll integrate multidisciplinary inputs, advise clients on regulatory strategies, and mentor junior staff across Canada, with travel to project sites as needed.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and delivering sustainable land-use outcomes in large-scale mining contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of experience in mine reclamation, closure planning, or environmental consulting.
• Proven experience with oil sands or large-scale mining reclamation and closure projects.
• Experience communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences; report writing.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites; professional designation is an asset (P.Biol., P.Ag., P.Geo., or P.Eng.).

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 – $162,800

MB & ON: $112,100 – $154,400

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 – $147,400
