Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods in Guelph, Ontario, is seeking a Production Supervisor to coordinate daily operations across multiple lines in a fast-paced food production facility. You will lead an hourly workforce, ensure safety, food safety, and quality, and drive continuous improvement through collaboration and coaching.

You will plan manpower, manage line transitions between SKUs, document health & safety, quality, and sanitation issues, and mentor staff to achieve production targets while maintaining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Post-secondary education in Operations Management is an asset.
• Ability to work with all functional areas to support a common goal.
• Proficient in email, spreadsheets, and adaptable to learning Kronos/SAP.
• Strong communication to lead, coach and resolve conflicts.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to embrace change and stay continuously learning.
• Flexibility to cover other Production Supervisors as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan manpower daily/weekly to meet production volumes and efficiency targets.
• Manage production lines and transitions between SKUs.
• Ensure health and safety of employees per procedures and provincial laws.
• Prepare production and progress reports.
• Oversee plant Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Sanitation issues.
• Be the first contact for hourly staff concerns and safety/quality improvements.
• Direct, train and motivate staff with HR collaboration.
• Foster a respectful, inclusive employee relations culture.
• Ensure production objectives are achieved by adjusting work procedures as needed.
