Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to maximize facility uptime, lead tradespeople, and drive world-class maintenance practices within a Canadian food manufacturing site.

You will oversee maintenance staff, coordinate with engineering and operations, and ensure work orders are entered in CMMS and completed on time, while upholding safety and quality standards across the plant.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
• Familiarity with world class maintenance and best practices.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, RCM and autonomous maintenance principles.
• College graduate from an electro-mechanical program or a licensed tradesperson with related experience.
• Familiarity in preventive and predictive maintenance tactics.
• Willing and flexible to work shifts as and when required.
• CMMS experience, SAP-PM preferably.
• Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
• Experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment would be an asset.
• Knowledge of ammonia-based plant refrigeration systems and their operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance staff and contractors to maximize uptime.
• Prioritize and manage work orders; support capital projects.
• Ensure maintenance is captured in CMMS and completed on schedule.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Operations on equipment maintenance.
• Support root-cause analysis and development of new tasks.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and labour regulations.
• Assist with planning and scheduling guidance and budgeting.
• Participate in production KPI review meetings and maintenance schedule reviews.
• Review completed work orders for accuracy and completeness.
