Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Principal Geologist to lead mining projects within the Mining & Energy market sector. You’ll provide technical leadership, support for resource modeling, estimation, and QP oversight, with a focus on Reno, NV; Vancouver, BC or Saskatoon, SK as preferred locations.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, drive project delivery, and contribute to business development, client relations, and staff growth across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in geology or geological engineering.
• 15–20 years of applied geology across the mining value chain with a focus on modeling and estimation.
• Strong proficiency in geological modeling software and data analytics tools.
• Professional designation such as P.G or P.Geo (Canada) and/or CPG (AIPG).
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and set long-term direction.
• Experience with a variety of commodities and deposit types.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel using company or personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to complex mining projects with technical leadership.
• Provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams and ensure project work meets standards and client expectations.
• Support business development, proposals, client relationships, and staff development initiatives.
• Represent RESPEC at industry events and professional engagements as appropriate.
• Develop people, build client relationships, and advance projects from concept to execution.
