Job summary

Nova Scotia Power, Point Tupper Generating Station, is seeking a Leading Power Engineer to join our Power Production team in a permanent on-site role. You will direct and perform safe, cost-efficient operation of the high-pressure boiler turbine unit and associated equipment.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will help train Power Engineers, coordinate communications, and cover shifts when needed, with travel within the province and a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A valid Power Engineer Certificate, preferably 1st Class.
• Minimum of five years experience as a Power Engineer in a generating station or similar industry.
• Ability to demonstrate color vision and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and perform safe, cost-efficient operation of the high-pressure boiler turbine unit and associated equipment.
• Coordinate communications within the shift and assist in training Power Engineers.
• Lead a skilled work team and cover the Operations Shift Supervisor as needed.
• Promote safety, environmental awareness and continuous improvement activities.
