Job summary

Nova Scotia Power in Point Aconi, NS, is seeking two Auxiliary Power Engineers for a term position in our Power Production team. You will oversee safe and cost-efficient operation of the high-pressure boiler turbine unit(s) and associated equipment.

The role requires a 2nd Class Power Engineer certificate with 3+ years of experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to travel within the province. This is an on-site, safety-sensitive position with pre-employment testing and a formal end date of

Qualifications

• 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate and a minimum of three years experience in a generating station or similar process.
• Demonstrated ability to operate control monitoring equipment and adapt to changing schedules.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-pressure boiler turbine unit(s) and all related auxiliary equipment.
• Participate in competency-based and regulatory trainings and on-the-job training.
• Ensure safety, environment performance and ISO 14001 processes are followed.
• May be assigned to other locations and travel within the province as required.
