The role requires a strong background in personal lines underwriting, leadership abilities, and strategic thinking, with a hybrid work arrangement in Edmonton and a salary range of CAD 76,600–95,000.

Qualifications

• Experienced in personal lines underwriting with leadership or supervisory background.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk analysis, pricing, and product development.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and build broker relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee underwriting policies, procedures and service standards across the team.
• Provide technical guidance on complex risks and sound decision-making.
• Conduct post-loss reviews to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and best practices.
• Maintain relationships with brokers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development for team members.
• Contribute to strategic underwriting initiatives and market insights.
