Job summary

Magna International in Ontario is seeking a mould change technician to schedule mould changes, stage tooling and assist with set ups on a busy production line. You will ensure safety and quality while supporting the production team with CI projects.

The role requires Grade 12, English proficiency, mechanical and electrical aptitude and experience with injection mould processes; a tow motor licence is advantageous. This on-site position offers steady hours and competitive hourly pay.

• Immediate open position.
• Competitive hourly pay range of CAD 35.19–39.02 per hour.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Grade 12 high school education and/or semi-skilled technical training.
• Proven mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to use heavy hand tools including pneumatic impact guns and wrenches.
• Injection mould process troubleshooting experience required.
• Tow motor licence is an asset.
• Excellent safety record required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule set up teams mould changes and adjusts for production schedule.
• Stage tooling, and perform mould changes when required in a support role.
• Maintain integrity and ensures completion of mould change check sheets and inspections.
• Completes daily 5S audit.
• Answers to mould change overages.
• Calls for support for the set up team from different resources when unable to resolve issues.
• Keep Process and Production Team Leaders up to date when targets are not being met.
• Has direct involvement in projects related to mould change CI's.
• Complete team score cards weekly.
• Hold daily team meetings and reports to team of major issues (safety contacts).
• Daily data input of measurable related to mould change.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:

• $35.19 - $39.02 per hour

- Previous mould change / rigging experiences an asset

• Proficient in English (both verbal and written)

• Grade 12 high school education and/or semi-skilled technical training
