Job summary

Magna Exteriors seeks a licensed Mouldmaker/Tool & Die Maker in Ontario to repair and maintain Injection, SMC, and RIM tools while driving continuous improvements. You will perform preventative maintenance, manage tool changes, and ensure production downtime is minimized through proactive tooling support.

The role requires CNC lathe/mill experience, own tools, and strong English communication. This is a hands-on position with overtime as needed at Magna Exteriors.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Mouldmaker/Tool & Die Maker.
• 5+ years experience on large tools (Injection and/or RIM).
• Knowledge of SVG systems, core pulls, hot manifolds, polishing and rebuilds.
• CNC lathe and mill experience required.
• Own tools, safety conscious and reliable.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Injection, SMC and RIM tools (surface damage, parting lines, engineering changes, cylinders, seal off, etc.).
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep moulds in good operating condition.
• Determine when a tool cannot be repaired in-house and arrange replacement with production.
• Complete engineering changes when required.
• Minimise downtime and support production with tooling issues.
• Liaise with production for tool availability and with maintenance for support.
• Work overtime when required and contribute to CI initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:

• Immediate open position

• $40.90 - $48.20 per hour

• Must be a licensed Mouldmaker/Tool & Die Maker

• Must have 5 years experience working on large tools, (Injection and/or RIM moulding)

• Must have knowledge of SVG systems, core pulls, hot manifolds, polishing and rebuilds

• Spotting press experience preferred

• CNC lathe and mill experience required

• A proven team player with good problem solving and decision making skills

• Must have own tools

• Must be safety conscious and reliable

• Good communication skills (English - spoken and written)

MAIN DUTIES:

• Repair and maintain Injection, SMC and RIM tools (surface damage, parting lines, engineering changes, cylinders, seal off, etc.)
• Performs preventative maintenance to ensure all moulds are in constant operating condition
• Responsible for determining when tool cannot be repaired in-house and making arrangements with production to have tool removed from the machine
• Complete engineering changes when required
• Ensures minimum downtime with respect to mould operation
• Support production to minimize downtime on machines due to tooling issues
• Liaison with production for tool availability
• Liaison with maintenance for possible support requirements
• Able to work overtime when required
• Responsible for monthly ‘CI’, (Continuous Improvement) contribution
• Perform other duties as assigned
