Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions client seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer for a major mining and mineral processing project in British Columbia. The role ensures technical quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery across development, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

The successful candidate will mentor engineers and coordinate with consultants, vendors, and project partners to drive design reviews and execution excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC or eligible.
• 12–15 years of progressive experience in mining/mineral processing or related fields.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing external consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of mechanical work packages from internal teams and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and stakeholders.
• Manage consultants through scope, planning, reviews, and schedules.
• Review design criteria, datasheets, drawings, and vendor documentation for approvals.
• Oversee design and integration of mineral processing and materials handling systems.
• Coordinate interfaces across process, civil, structural, electrical, and procurement teams.
• Support procurement with requisitions, bids, reviews, clarifications, and recommendations.
