Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to independently manage small to mid-size projects and contribute within larger projects under a Senior Engineer. You will evaluate, specify, and engineer mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

The role involves client interaction, BIM development, and leadership in project coordination. You will prepare documentation, lead meetings, and assist with scope, budget, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree required.
• Eligible for professional engineer registration in Canada.
• Minimum of 8 years of applicable experience.
• Experience creating tender document packages with detailed drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, specify, and engineer mechanical systems or products for a project.
• Collaborate with team members, clients, and other disciplines to achieve project success.
• Develop designs through sketches, models, diagrams, and other visuals.
• Use BIM to develop 3D models and provide markups for junior staff.
• Prepare and revise documentation across mechanical phases (plans, diagrams, details).
• Lead project coordination meetings with stakeholders and vendors.
• Assist in developing project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• Coordinate project specifications with construction documents.
• Perform calculations using established software.
