Job summary

TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is partnering with a KWG-area building engineering consulting firm in Waterloo, Ontario to recruit a Lead Mechanical Designer/Engineer. The role focuses on designing and coordinating HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for diverse building projects, backed by mentorship and technical growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of mechanical design experience, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, and are eligible for P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for licensure in Ontario preferred.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience within the building consulting industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects.
• Prepare design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Develop detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers for coordinated design solutions.
• Participate in site reviews, field inspections, and construction administration.
• Manage project timelines and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
• Support mentorship and knowledge sharing within the mechanical team.
