Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Lead Mechanical Designer/Engineer for Waterloo, ON. You will design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects, develop drawings in AutoCAD and Revit, and collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and PMs to deliver integrated solutions.

This role emphasizes mentorship within the mechanical team, site reviews, construction administration, and meeting project timelines with high quality. A P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for licensure in Ontario.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience within the building consulting industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a wide range of building projects.
• Prepare design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Develop detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Collaborate closely with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure coordinated and efficient design solutions.
• Participate in site reviews, field inspections, and construction administration.
• Manage project timelines and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
• Support mentorship and knowledge sharing within the mechanical team.
