Job summary

Red Deer Polytechnic is seeking a Manager, Student Care to provide leadership across Student Care, Intake and Mental Health & Wellbeing. The role reports to the AVPSE and drives strategy, staff development, and policy-aligned service delivery to promote student success.

The incumbent will lead high‑performing teams, coordinate resources, and engage with internal and external partners to enhance access to comprehensive student supports on campus.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Health related field is required.
• Registration under Health Professions Act is required (e.g., Registered Social Worker).
• 3–5 years experience as a registered health professional such as a Social Worker; 3–5 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for Student Care, Intake, and Mental Health & Wellbeing services and directs strategic planning.
• Develops operational plans aligned with the Division’s Business Plan.
• Leads recruitment, coaching, supervision, and performance management in line with HR policies and agreements.
• Ensures services align with policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining confidentiality.
• Engages with internal and external partners to strengthen partnerships and service coordination.
• Oversees budgets and resource allocation within established budgets.
